• Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that develops from the thin layer of tissue that covers many of the internal organs (known as the mesothelium)

  • Pleural mesothelioma

Symptoms or signs of mesothelioma may not appear until 20 to 50 years (or more) after exposure to asbestos. Shortness of breath, cough, and pain in the chest due to an accumulation of fluid in the pleural space (pleural effusion) are often symptoms of pleural mesothelioma.

  • Peritoneal mesothelioma

The most common symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma are abdominal swelling and pain due to ascites (a buildup of fluid in the abdominal cavity)

  • Pericardial mesothelioma

Pericardial mesothelioma is not well characterized, but observed cases have included cardiac symptoms, specifically constrictive pericarditis, heart failure, pulmonary embolism, and cardiac tamponade.

  • Asbestos in buildings

Many building materials used in both public and domestic premises prior to the banning of asbestos may contain asbestos.

Living in the fear of mesothelioma cancer disease

Living in the fear of mesothelioma cancer disease

Firstly, the fear of mesothelioma, you may wonder what mesothelioma is and why you should be afraid of it?. Mesothelioma is the medical name for lung cancer, and is usually caused by exposure to asbestos. My symptoms do not appear until 50 years or more after the exposure to asbestos, and people who have not had contact with asbestos for many years, are now signs of having this deadly disease. The symptoms are usually shortness of breath, cough and chest pain and feel very tired. Why should I be afraid of him? As a small child, I lived near a factory that used asbestos to make refractory products and other insulating materials for the building industry. I believe that asbestos has also been used in the manufacture of break fittings.

I remember seeing the asbestos dust that sprung from the factory covering the surrounding area (including a part of our schoolyard) with this deadly snow like powder. Of course, as we were just children at that time, we had absolutely no idea what mortal this dust was. We even played in completely oblivious to its dangers. The horror came later. It was not until several years after the factory had been closed, as we began to see the horrors of this white powdery snow looking, we played with the children. At that time I was much older, and the dangers of asbestos had given me massive coverage by the media, so I was now aware of what could happen to myself and hundreds of other people who lived in the same Region than this plant in the years to come. TV Documentary. This factory received coverage from the national television, and on a program they interviewed the families who suffered because of the asbestos problem. I was shocked to see that I knew some of the people who had lost family members due to developing mesothelioma, in fact, I went to school with some of the people who took part in the program.

The program showed old photographs of the area around the factory (including my old school) covered with powder, and it seemed to have been snowing. When you see all this on TV, it really does make you a little worried, especially when you have been in contact with asbestos, as I did. Treatments. If mesothelioma is diagnosed early enough, healing is possible with a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. However, in the case of a more advanced disease a cure is not possible, but with the right treatments the disease can be slowed dramatically and medication can be used to relieve a pain. X-Rays. As a precaution I had X-rays, a few years ago to put my mind to rest, and fortunately they were all clearly. The doctor recommended that I would have X-rays on a very regular basis just to be on the safe side. So for now everything is OK, but I will always be a little worried about what might happen in the future.

Asbestos exposure and Mesothelioma cancer: the killer connection

Asbestos exposure and Mesothelioma cancer: the killer connection
Mesothelioma and asbestos are so related that many people call it by the name of asbestos mesothelioma. Although mesothelioma is serious cancer, asbestos is the main cause. If we can approve things that remain in use for a long time, their effect on the environment decides the solvency of this product at the end. The same thing is true with asbestos. The years 1940 and 1950 saw a wave of “asbestos” as the best thing that could happen after cement in the construction industry. Due to its high degree of stability and resistance to very high temperatures, asbestos has been widely applied in insulators and ceiling tiles in homes, schools, and factories. However, this product is a harmful pollutant. Asbestos tends to break into small particles and remain suspended in the air for long periods of time.
Anyone who comes in contact or inhales, it becomes vulnerable to serious illnesses such as asbestosis, lung cancer or mesothelioma lung cancers. Types of mesothelioma: mesothelioma, cancer-related to asbestos, acquires its name from the mesothelial cells that are charged to protect and allow an easy removal of our vital organs like lungs, heart, and abdomen in the body. Mesothelioma is usually of three types, pleural mesothelioma, peritoneal mesothelioma and pericardial mesothelioma. If a person suffers from hoarseness, difficulty breathing, weight loss, coughing, blood in the sputum, chest pain, muscle weakness, reduced tactile sensitivity, it may be suffering from pleural mesothelioma or cancer of the mucosa of Lungs. It is the most common type of mesothelioma and nearly two-thirds of patients with mesothelioma suffer from pleural mesothelioma.
Peritoneal mesothelioma or cancer of the lining of the abdomen causes an impaired bowel movement, bloating, swelling of the feet and nausea. This is less common in patients with mesothelioma and affects one-third of mesothelioma patients. Pericardial mesothelioma is cancer of the inner wall of the heart. It is also due to the fact that exposure to asbestos. However, its prevalence is rare. Pericardial mesothelioma manifest in the form of chest pain, palpitations, cough, and dyspnea. Lawsuits related to mesothelioma and asbestos: The dangerous consequences of long-term contact with asbestos and its link with mesothelioma cancers gave rise to several lawsuits against manufacturers. Mesothelioma or asbestos lawyers claim that asbestos manufacturers were aware of the harmful effects of exposure to asbestos and yet persisted in its use for profit reasons. This is the reason why juries have ordered rigorous rewards in many mesotheliomas and asbestos-related lawsuits.

Mesothelioma cancer: A mesothelioma Cure glimpse

Mesothelioma cancer: A mesothelioma Cure glimpse
Doctors and researchers are looking for answers related to mesothelioma healing but found none. Before discussing the mesothelioma cure, it is necessary to know what is mesothelioma and what are its possible causes. A mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer of the mucous membrane of the lungs and abdomen. High exposure to asbestos is the only known cause of mesothelioma cancer. The asbestos is a natural fibrous mineral that has been widely used in the construction process, many manufacturing units and building materials. Asbestos breaks in tiny particles that float in the air, can be easily inhaled and deposit on the garments of workers, them and members of their families prone to many health risks to leave.
Understanding its symptoms-a step towards mesothelioma cure: An understanding of the symptoms of mesothelioma can help in the process of mesothelioma healing. Some common symptoms of mesothelioma are difficulty breathing, chest pain, and chronic cough. However, repeatedly this disease resides in asymptomatic in the body, making mesothelioma cure an impossible task. Once detected, the chances of survival of an average mesothelioma patient are very dark. The options for mesothelioma healing depend on the different stages of the disease. In the first step, treatment options depend on factors such as the age of the patient, general health, organ affected and the size of the tumor. The surgery is used for the mesothelioma treatment and healing in the first step. Doctors remove the tumor and surrounding tissues with a surgical process.
However, doctors use a combination of surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy if the tumor has grown tremendously. Liquid Collection in the thorax and abdomen takes place in advanced stages of mesothelioma. The mesothelioma remedy at these steps is to drain fluid to reduce discomfort. This process of treatment is known as Thoracentesis or paracentesis. After that, doctors use the surgery followed by radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Treatment and efforts for the mesothelioma cure can suffer from a severe jolt if the disease hits the back. In this case, the treatment depends on the location of the recidivism, and the patient’s medical history.
What if the efforts for the mesothelioma Cure fail? As we discussed the chances of survival of patients with mesothelioma are dark and the possibility of mesothelioma healing is rare. In this case, it is necessary to make patients aware that they are legally entitled to claim compensation for medical expenses, loss of income, loss of earning capacity, pain and psychological trauma they undergo. Although granting an indemnity cannot cause mesothelioma to cure or compensate for the loss of life, but it can bring some relief to the victims of mesothelioma and members of their family

Mesothelioma cancer treatments : some basic facts

Mesothelioma cancer treatments : some basic facts
Before discussing mesothelioma treatments, it is important to have an understanding of what is mesothelioma. A mesothelioma is a rare form of lung tissue cancer and abdominal area caused by exposure to asbestos fibers. It takes 30-40 years for this cancer to appear after exposure to asbestos. It is important to treat this cancer at an early stage otherwise it proves fatal.
Different treatments of mesothelioma are surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. There are two types of surgeries for mesothelioma treatments, aggressive surgery, and palliative care procedures. Before performing any surgery, it is necessary to check whether the heart and lungs are functioning properly. Of the two types, aggressive surgery, also known as Pneumonectomy, is complicated surgery performed on younger patients, who are good for health and can withstand surgery.
Pneumonectomy involves eliminating the additional pleural membrane. The main objective of this treatment of mesothelioma is to physically remove as much tumor as possible. Palliative procedures for the treatment of mesothelioma are known as Pleurectomy. It is done in the early stages of cancer. This process of mesothelioma treatment involves the surgical removal of pleura. However, the procedures are involved in order to reduce and control the symptoms rather than cure the disease. This surgery reduces the pain caused by the tumor mass and helps prevent the recurrence of pleural effusion. The complete elimination of the tumor is not possible with this procedure. Chemotherapy is a process of treating mesothelioma that makes the combined use of certain medications for shrinking the tumor. Although some patients show only partial success in this method, some combinations of chemotherapy drugs have been proven. Scientists have developed new chemotherapy drugs for the treatment of mesothelioma.
Radiotherapy is the process of treating mesothelioma that makes use of nuclear radiation to kill malignant cells and reduce the tumor. However, radiation therapy is an extremely difficult procedure. It can damage the healthy cells of the heart, lungs and other vital organs surrounded by radiation doses. Biotherapy includes chemotherapy and radiation with the combination of surgery. This combination helps to kill the remaining tumor cells remain after surgery and to relieve symptoms such as pain. Mesothelioma treatments can be very costly. However, patients with mesothelioma and other asbestos-based diseases may bring an action to recover damages for medical expenses, loss of income, loss of earning capacity, pain and suffering. The victims of mesothelioma can take the help of expert asbestos lawyers to locate the defendants-persons/companies responsible for the appearance of asbestos exposure.

Mesothelioma Research: Search for Hope

Mesothelioma Research: Search for Hope
Mesothelioma research refers to studies for discovering new facts or information about cancers of mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a deadly cancerous disease. It affects the lining of the lungs and the abdominal organs. The only known reason for this disease is exposure to asbestos particles. The diagnosis of mesothelioma is a difficult process.
This is mainly because asbestos particles can remain dormant in the body for up to 50 years before the onset of symptoms. The average survival time of patients with mesothelioma is 1-2 years. Mesothelioma research is important given the growing number of patients with mesothelioma all year. ResearchMost Mesothelioma’s Key Points of mesothelioma research is happening today is focused on the effects of asbestos particles on human cells.
Scientists conduct mesothelioma research studies the process by which asbestos corrupts the organism’s healthy cells. The ongoing research on mesothelioma offers a glimmer of hope that in the future it will be possible to avoid the harmful effects of asbestos particles on cells. During human mesothelioma research, experts are also performing clinical trials on patients with mesothelioma. They conduct clinical trials on patients who receive a diagnosis of mesothelioma cancer in the early stages and later stages.
Doctors insist on testing on both types of patients because two of them also require the relief of mesothelioma cancers. Mesothelioma research underway and new information every day gives hope to the victims of mesothelioma that any lawsuit can lead in the discovery of an effective treatment for mesothelioma cancers. Sponsors of ResearchMany mesothelioma organizations including companies responsible for exposure to asbestos particles are sponsoring mesothelioma research. It is the moral duty of these companies because many people are on the verge of dying because of their neglect. Law firms are also closely monitoring mesothelioma research as many patients are adopting legal course of mesothelioma claims. A mesothelioma law firm has a better chance of getting compensation for its client if they better information about this dangerous disease

Asbestos exposure : An overview of asbestos-Mesothelioma disease

Asbestos exposure : An overview of asbestos-Mesothelioma disease
What is asbestos? Asbestos disease, mesothelioma cancers, lung cancers and asbestosis are diseases caused due to exposure to asbestos. Asbestos is different fibrous natural minerals in some rocks and soil. It has found a wide use in the construction materials industries such as flocking, roofing shingles, electrical insulation, furnace, hot pipe coating and friction studies products. Recent, however, have revealed that exposure to asbestos can have consequences on the damaging health resulting from asbestos disease and mesothelioma for workers in the industries making use of asbestos as well as those who live Environment that surrounds these places. Workers can inhale fine asbestos particles in the air, they also become exposed by contact with the skin with asbestos or by ingesting asbestos fibers at work. These workers are vulnerable to asbestos disease and mesothelioma effects asbestosis. Serious asbestos Mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma diseases are the most serious of several asbestos-related diseases detected so far. It is because of the carcinogenic effect of asbestos particles. Asbestos can cause lung cancer, esophagus, colon, rectum, stomach, vocal cords, and kidneys. About 70 percent to 80 percent of all cases of asbestos mesothelioma of the disease – a rare type of mesothelium cancer, the membrane that covers and protects most bodies of internal organs – are the result of asbestos exposure to work disease. Asbestos mesothelioma may not immediately manifest. Asbestos particles can remain dormant in the body for several years and later appear when the prognosis is very dark. It is possible that at the time the disease is diagnosed, cancer may have already spread significantly. In view of health concerns, all new uses of asbestos in manufacturing industries have been banned in the United States from July 1989 onwards. In particular, the use of asbestos in a hand-held hairdryer was voluntarily stopped in 1979. Schools are required to test the use of asbestos roofs and it is removed or covered up. Compensation for the victims of asbestos disease first case Mesothelioma.
The asbestos mesothelioma disease was deposited nearly 70 years ago. Employees in industries with the considerable risk of asbestos poisoning are, in principle, eligible for mesothelioma compensation. The remuneration is only available to employees who are at risk of asbestos exposure since the 1940 years. Recently, many patients with mesothelioma have sued for compensation. They received compensation on the grounds that industry owners continued to use asbestos despite information about the health risks it entails. Currently, aid is available to victims of asbestos mesothelioma disease through many law firms specialized in the United States.

Asbestos Home Test : prevention is better than cure

Asbestos Home Test : prevention is better than cure

Asbestos home testing is a process of testing the presence of asbestos in homes in general and building materials in particular. Asbestos is a mineral fiber heat resistant, chemicals and electricity. Construction and insulation industries have made widespread use of asbestos in their operations. Asbestos is commonly used in your home, in one form or the other. Some building materials that may contain asbestos materials are vinyl floor tiles, textured paint, oven and stovepipe, insulation, stove door seals, roofing, cement and material shingles. Asbestos coating was most commonly used until the early 1970’s in various home appliances, such as toasters, dryers and hair dryers. Now, the government has set standards for the use of asbestos and its exposure. Asbestos home testing is essential because exposure and inhalation of asbestos fibers is dangerous for your health.

Friable asbestos materials in homes, industries and appliances could lead to serious asbestos-related diseases. The following people are more vulnerable to asbestos-related diseases:  Work in industries and mines  Build buildings  Make ceilings  Perform insulationApart ceiling of these people All other people who live in houses with asbestos materials Construction contaminated or involved in the use or repair of devices and products containing asbestos may also communicate with asbestos diseases. This makes the asbestos house test a necessary process for all homes that are built before 1980 and all people who use appliances and products or who could pose Asbestos Undamaged asbestos materials. Health Hazards can not cause any danger to health. When asbestos is exposed to knocking, rubbing, or extreme vibration, its wear and tear occurs and shows signs of wear. Asbestos is only harmful when it has been damaged, and its fiber mixes with the air.

You can determine the condition and stability of asbestos products through asbestos home testing. Home testing of asbestos is mandatory because exposure to asbestos can lead to life-threatening diseases such as asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma. Asbestos can harm you if you inhale asbestos fibers. There is no safe level of asbestos exposure and even short-term exposure to asbestos creates a possibility of your catching a disease caused by asbestos. Removing asbestos from HomeIt is not possible to perform asbestos tests in the house. You need qualified professional to check for asbestos in your home. Asbestos removal is the process of determining the asbestos material status and taking corrective action to prevent the risks of asbestos exposure. There is no need for you to remove all asbestos material in your home. You can also opt for economic measures such as enclosures and encapsulation to prevent the risk of exposure to asbestos, even without removing the asbestos container Materials.

Mesothelioma cancer: What is Mesothelioma sarcoma ?

Mesothelioma cancer What is Mesothelioma sarcoma

What is mesothelioma sarcoma? Between the two forms of mesothelioma tumors, which are benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous), the latter is more common and dangerous, popularly known as mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is characterized by its dangerous potential to spread to other parts of the body.

Types of Mesothelioma:

There are three different types of mesothelioma:

1) Ephitheliod: It affects the membranous tissue covering the internal organs and body surfaces. Although the majority of cases of mesothelioma occurred today belong to this type, it has the best prognosis (prospects for survival or treatment).

2) Sarcomatoid: It is also known as mesothelioma sarcoma. It stems from supportive tissues such as bones, muscles, cartilage and fats. About 7% to 20% of mesothelioma cases are of this type.

3) Mixed / biphasic: 20% to 35% of mesothelioma cases belong to this type. It features both the characteristics of the two types.

The treatment options above remain the same for all aspects of types.Physical Mesothelioma Mesothelioma arising from the thoracic cavity are known as pleural mesothelioma and amounts to a participation of about three quarters of all cases. Peritoneal mesothelioma, which begins and spreads in the abdomen, accounts for 10% to 20% of mesothelioma cases. Mesothelioma affects the testes lining, which is actually an out-lunging of the peritoneum in the scrotum, is rather rare. The cases of pericardial mesothelioma that starts in the heart cavities are also very rare. Mesothelioma and Mesothelioma MassesNew cases, although they are less common, amount from 2000 to 3000, every year only in the United States. Most of the patients diagnosed with mesothelioma are in the age group of 50 and over with the majority being people in the seventies.

This is mainly due to their exposure to asbestos in the 1940s and 1950s or even more early. Exposure victims of the I970s and 1980s of the year later still have to be diagnosed. Men are more likely than women to be male victims, 3 to 5 times more likely than women. This is probably because during this period, the women of the liberation movements were launched, which resulted in prohibiting them from building work. On racial parameters, it is more common among Caucasians than African Americans.Even although cases of mesothelioma sarcoma are rare, they are extremely dangerous. People diagnosed with the disease are mostly in their last stages and critical, making their treatment more difficult compared to other forms of cancer. The survival time varies from one to two years. With unparalleled progress in modern science and medical technology, the chances of mesothelioma treatment and recovery have always been good news increasing. The is that patients with mesothelioma sarcoma can sue for compensation against companies responsible for exposure to asbestos.

Mesothelioma cancer

Mesothelioma cancer

Unfortunately the word Mesothelioma is becoming more and more known, the mere mention of this striking fear in all of us because we know that it is associated with death. Asbestos is the reaper, Mesothelioma is his daughter in the hand. Asbestos, the miracle product of the fifties is now recognized as an enemy of the twentieth century. A ruthless enemy who will kill more people than the war. Men, women and children will be victims of their prey, innocents who have at some point in their lives inhalation of asbestos dust. Most of us have been in contact with products containing asbestos in our life time. We sat in the asbestos classrooms, stood next to our fathers as they cut an asbestos fence, arrived old linoleum with asbestos clogged at the back of it. Visited the local board where the broken leaves of this were offered to the wind.Records show that there is a greater number of people with asbestosis and mesothelioma who have directly worked in asbestos mines, shipyards and the companies that manufacture asbestos products, but there are a large number of people who have never worked in those industries.

Their contact with asbestos, because of the dust brought home on their husband’s clothes or from the asbestos residues placed around the houses of mines and perimeters of the city. But the tragedy does not end there, children playing innocently in their own backyard played among asbestos residues as children play elsewhere in the sand. They had no way of knowing that their sand was blue asbestos. A good bath at the end of the day, perhaps removed the dust from the skin, but the dust in the lungs and would have stayed dormant for many years before claiming his deadly warning legacy.Without, a healthy individual suddenly gets to short of breath, x rays reveal fluid in the lungs and the nightmare begins. Questions are asked and you answer, yes, I was exposed to asbestos dust but I was alone in the city for a few months and it was more than 40 years ago. How is it possible? This is the most embarrassing thing about mesothelioma. Why is there such a long period of time between inhalation of asbestos dust and the onset of the disease? What triggers a strong healthy body suddenly succumb to it? What can we do to prevent this from happening? Blood tests are now available to determine if mesothelioma is present in the body before a person is aware of the symptoms.

This is an amazing breakthrough and may be the first step towards healing the disease before it becomes terminal. Recently, mesothelioma was cured of a mouse and attempts to give it back the mouse were unsuccessful. That too is an exciting thing and holds a glimmer of hope for all of us. I witnessed first-hand the devastation of mesothelioma. My husband was a strong, manly man who rarely had a day off in his life. Suddenly, at the age of 52, he became short of breath and was later diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma. He had lived in the asbestos mining town of Wittenoom in Western Australia for a few months at the age of seven. Asbestos dust inhaled then it took 45 years to become deadly. I still find it hard to believe. Despite his prognosis of three to nine months, Brian survived for two years. He was 54 when he died

Mesothelioma : the greatest man of the epidemic Made

the greatest man of the epidemic Made

Mesothelioma – Largest Man Does Epidemic in Lorraine KemberIt is documented that Australia was the highest per capita use of asbestos in the world from the 1950s until the 1970s. As a result tragically, Australia has now the highest per capita rate of mesothelioma in the world. With more than 500 Australians contracting a mesothelioma a year, it is estimated that up to 18,000 Australians will die from this asbestos-related cancer by the year 2020. Despite the awareness of the dangers of asbestos, there are many people who have not heard of mesothelioma. This asbestos-related cancer is defined as: a malignant tumor spread from the pleural mesothelium, the pericardium or peritoneum, resulting in inhalation of asbestos fibers. One of the most confusing and frightening facts known about mesothelioma is that many years can pass between inhalation of asbestos dust and its deadly inheritance of the disease, it is not uncommon for four decades or more to go before the symptoms due to asbestos dust inhalation appeared. In November 2004, I was invited as a speaker at Asbestos Global Congress 2004 held in Tokyo, Japan. More than 800 participants from 40 countries around the world were present. To be part of such a large gathering of human brothers, united in a quest to rid the poison of asbestos in our circles was a very moving experience. Having lost my husband to mesothelioma, I know first-hand the suffering it imposes cruel diseases on his innocent victims. There were many speakers and everyone said a tale, pain, death and sorrow. We listened, we understood and hurt us for the past, present and future of killer asbestos victims and its legacy of mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases. We listened and we were shocked and indignant to learn that despite the awareness of the dangers of asbestos and the rising incidence of asbestos-related disease, there are still some countries that are asbestos mining with little or no regard for their workers or people who will come into contact with asbestos products. Worldwide Asbestos Disease Association members work tirelessly and fight against almost insurmountable obstacles to ban asbestos in all countries of the world. It is a sobering and scary fact, that even though we have succeeded in this quest, the legacy of asbestos-related diseases will continue for five decades.Add your voice to everyone who wants this killer product erased from World environments – Add your voice to the call that advocates for adequate compensation for the victims and their families. Sign the petition online at Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization: http://ift.tt/VV2RbY. The Asbestos Awareness Awareness Organization (ADAO) continues to raise public awareness about the dangers of asbestos exposure and Asbestos-related diseases that are incurable and often fatal. ADAO is developing rapidly, uniting veterans, firefighters, shipyards, teachers and thousands of other innocent people around the world. Awareness of asbestos leads to education, prevention, new treatments and ultimately a cure.

The facts about pleural mesothelioma

The facts about pleural mesothelioma

Pleural mesothelioma is the most common form of mesothelioma by far and accounts for 75% of all cases of mesothelioma. Pleural mesothelioma affects the respiratory areas of the body like the lungs. More specifically, cancer attacks the lining of the lungs and the ribs, the pleura hence the name pleural mesothelioma. The main cause of pleural mesothelioma is exposure to asbestos. Only a few months after being exposed to lethal dust and unprotected asbestos fibers can lead to pleural mesothelioma thirty to fifty years later. Men aged 60 to 70 years are the most at risk for asbestos because it was the generation that worked with asbestos with little protection against dust and fibers. Due to the long latency period of pleural mesothelioma (30-50 years), these men only discover that they have lethal cancer. Currently, many of these men are housing million dollar suits against companies that exposed them to asbestos. Asbestos fibers penetrate the lining of the lungs by inhalation and lodge inside the lungs. The symptoms that are associated with pleural mesothelioma are persistent cough, difficulty swallowing, facial swelling, weight loss, fever, hoarse and spittle of blood. Patients may also experience shortness of breath because the tumor on the lining of the lungs increases, leaving less room for the lungs to function properly. Some patients also begin to experience severe pain in the chest and this is due to the spread of cancer cells. Many of these symptoms are similar to diseases and conditions that are much more common than mesotheliomas which means that pleural mesothelioma is often very difficult to diagnose until it is too late.Treatment of pleural mesothelioma is limited and yet there is no proper remedy. Research is conducted in laboratories all over the United States and many pharmaceutical companies are also testing new treatments. Treatments for pleural mesothelioma include chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. Patient age, medical record, weight and other factors are taken into account before treatment. In general, the chances of survival are much more likely than pleural mesothelioma is treated aggressively in its beginnings because once the cancer has developed and matured it is very difficult to cure.

Symptoms of Mesothelioma cancer

Symptoms of Mesothelioma cancer

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is becoming more common in older men. The most common cause of mesothelioma is exposure to asbestos and affects the membrane of most of the most vital internal organs such as the lungs and the heart. Mesothelioma is particularly difficult to diagnose because it presents symptoms similar to many other diseases. The most common form of most common mesothelioma is called pleural mesothelioma. This type of mesothelioma accounts for 75% of all cases of mesothelioma. Pleural mesothelioma affects lining of the lungs and has symptoms such as chest pains, coughing, breathing and swallowing, shortness of breath, wheezing and weight loss. These symptoms apply to many less severe illnesses but everyone with signs of these symptoms is strongly advised to consult their doctor as soon as possible. A less common form of mesothelioma is peritoneal mesothelioma and this form of cancer affects the person ‘ abdomen. The tissue that lines the abdomen is called the peritoneum and this is what is touched. Peritoneal mesothelioma accounts for 20% of all cases of mesothelioma. The symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma are weight loss, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, weakness, nausea and abdominal swelling. These symptoms become more and more serious as the cancer develops. Those who are exposed to asbestos or have been exposed have a risk of getting mesothelioma. It is important that mesothelioma is diagnosed at an early stage so that it can be treated quickly and aggressively. The sooner one discovers it, the more successful the treatment will be.

Peritoneal mesothelioma is a rare pearl type of cancer

Peritoneal mesothelioma is a rare pearl type of cancer

Which affects the wall of the abdomen. It occurs in the tissues that line the abdominal cavity that contain a fluid that allows the organs to move and work properly. This is cancer, which is associated with exposure to asbestos, a mineral belonging to the amphibole group used in the manufacture of fire-resistant articles. Exposure to asbestos can result in serious health complications. Peritoneal mesothelioma is sometimes also called diffuse peritoneal mesothelioma, as this is where the cancer spreads. Among asbestos-related diseases, peritoneal mesothelioma is the most common cancer. Peritoneal mesothelioma can prove fatal in many circumstances, if the proper diagnosis and treatment is not made. The latency period is very long [10 to 50 years] and most of the time it is diagnosed when the disease is well distributed in the body.

Mesothelioma can affect any part and organs of the body if it is not detected in time. Symptoms of Peritoneal Mesothelioma Symptoms may not appear shortly after exposure to asbestos. It can take a long period of latency and symptoms can be clear after a long time.

• Most symptoms resemble flu

• Stomach pain and fever

• Abdominal swelling may occur

• Swelling of the abdomen, extreme pain in the internal organs may occur

• Shortness of breath accompanied by a persistent cough Due to the accumulation of fluid between the lining of the lungs and the thoracic cavity known as pleural effusion. Mesothelioma peritoneal origins Asbestos is the main cause of people who develop peritoneal mesothelioma. Asbestos is a material used in shipyards and industries. Asbestos adds to the durability and quality of fire resistance and gives strength to products and protects them from corrosion. Inhalation of asbestos can be serious and fatal in many cases. It causes scar tissue to develop on lower lobes of both lungs, resulting in minor cuts and lacerations in the tissue. It can impair pulmonary elasticity and the lung’s ability to exchange enough gas. Diagnosis – mesothelioma AOne peritoneal major obstacles in the diagnosis of peritoneal mesothelioma lies in its symptoms resembling flu with fever and other symptoms. Many patients and doctors are unable to recognize the disease unless the peritoneal mesothelioma tumors cause severe adnominal swelling and pain. The diagnosis can be based on X-rays or scanning. In these two diagnostic methods, detailed images of the body are taken in which the complete image of the body becomes clear and the doctor is able to identify where the cancer cells lie. Sometimes, exploratory surgery is also performed on the basis of the doctor’s recommendation. In addition, a biopsy is performed in which a sample of cells is taken from the affected part of the body, and tested under the microscope to verify abnormal growth. A blood test is also done to rule out the possibilities of other diseases and conditions.

Peritoneal mesothelioma – abdominal wall cancer

Peritoneal mesothelioma - abdominal wall cancer

One of the deadly forms of mesothelioma is peritoneal mesothelioma in which cancer cells attack the wall of the abdomen called peritoneum. Peritoneum is the thin membrane that protects various organs of the abdomen and also provides a lubricating fluid to allow the organs to move and work properly. Peritoneal mesothelioma, which affects this lining, is still today a relatively rare disease that accounts for about 1/5 of all mesotheliomas. Its only known cause in the United States to date is prior exposure to asbestos.Major symptoms Although mesothelioma is neither age nor specific sex, peritoneal mesothelioma is mostly observed in men who are In the 50-70 age bracket. There are a number of symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma, most of which begin to appear after 20, 30 or 50 years after exposure to asbestos. These symptoms may include weight loss (however, waist line may increase), pain or swelling of the abdomen, weakness, loss of appetite, intestinal obstruction, anemia, nausea and fever.

In addition, fluid often accumulates in the peritoneal space leading to a condition called ascites.Diagnosis of peritoneal first step mesothelioma. The towards the detection of peritoneal mesothelioma includes X-rays and computed tomography. To confirm the diagnosis but the doctor must do a biopsy in which a piece of tissue is cut from the affected part of the victim’s body and is placed under a microscope for examination. If the disease is detected at an early stage, it stands a better chance of being cured than the state of diffuse peritoneal mesothelioma, where the cancer has already spread to true parts. The CureIt that peritoneal mesothelioma is fatal And leads to several deaths each year. However, with continuing research, several modes of treatment have been undertaken and in the future there is a fair chance of the disease becoming absolutely curable. Types of treatment of peritoneal mesothelioma include surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. In surgery a part of the abdominal tissue is cut to remove the tumor.

Sometimes the doctor may also need to remove a lung or a part of the membrane only by the requirement of surgery. Radiotherapy, the second method, requires the application of high-energy X-rays to reduce the tumor and destroy the malignant cells. The spokes can be applied from an external apparatus, or by placing the radiation source directly to the affected part of the body, by means of plastic tubes. Last type of treatment is chemotherapy in which a combination of drugs is applied to kill cancer cells. The medications can be administered orally in capsule form or can be applied intravenously via needle. However it is essential to mention that the cost of treating any form of cancer is extravagant and you can consult a mesothelioma lawyer for you To make a good compensation of. Malignant mesothelioma – Mesothelial cell cancer

Malignant mesothelioma - Mesothelial cell cancer

The defined Mesothelium sick is the protective tissue that covers the thoracic cavity, abdominal cavity and cavity around the heart and also produces a special lubricant fluid that allows the body’s internal organs to move about. Malignant mesothelioma can be defined as cancer of mesothelial cells that become abnormal and begin to divide without any order. The majority of mesothelioma patients have a history of exposure to asbestos.Types of malignant mesothelioma  or simply mesothelioma can be divided into 3 main types namely :- Epithelioid – Sarcomatoid – Mixed / Biphasic Among these, epithelioid is the most Frequent (50% to 70% of cases) and has the best chance of recovery. Type Sarcomatoid is seen in 7% to 20% of cases whereas the mixed / biphasic type is seen in 20% to 35% cells.

Approximately, ¾ of the total mesothelioma cases originated in the thoracic cavity (pleura) and is known as pleural mesothelioma. The cancer affecting the wall of the abdomen (peritoneum) is called peritoneal mesothelioma and affects the “sac as” space around the heart (pericardial cavity) is called pericardial mesothelioma. Mesothelioma sometimes also affects the covering layer of the testicles. However, the latter two types of cases are fairly rare. Diagnosis of malignant mesothelioma. The mesothelium tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant mesothelioma (cancerous). So every time there are symptoms like shortness of breath, pain in the chest / belly or swelling of the abdomen, you should consult your doctor immediately. After the first radiographs and analyzes, the doctor can look inside the chest cavity (in case of pleural tumor) with an instrument called thoracoscope and the test is called thoracoscopy. In case of tumor in the peritoneum, the doctor can go for peritoneoscopy using a tool called peritoneoscope. Finally, if the abnormal tissue is found then a biopsy is performed, whereby a piece of the abnormal tissue is cut and placed under a microscope for examination. After confirming the diagnosis of mesothelioma, it is also essential to know its steps whether it is In a localized or advanced stage.

In the localized phase, the cancer is found in the wall of the rib cage or membrane or lung. Advanced mesothelioma can again be divided into 3 stages namely stage II, III and IV. In Phase II, the cancer spreads beyond the chest wall to the lymph nodes and in Phase III it spreads into the chest wall, the center of the chest, the heart, through the diaphragm or Abdominal wall, etc. The final or fourth stage is that of which the cancer has already spread Distant organs.Treatment Depending on the stage of cancer, its location and health, age and medical history of the patient, 3 Types of treatments are coupled to mesothelioma patients – surgery (to remove the tumor), radiation therapy (application of high energy rays) and chemotherapy (use of combination drugs). This aside, if there is an accumulation of fluid in the chest or abdomen, then the doctor needs to empty the out and the process is considered thoracentesis and paracentesis respectively. So be aware of the disease, so you can prevent it from the very beginning

Mesothelioma Prognosis – The Science of Lives Recovery

Mesothelioma Prognosis - The Science of Lives Recovery

A brief on Mesothelioma: A huge 2,000 to 3,000 new cases of mesothelioma is on the rise in the United States of America. Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer and it is a sequelae of exposure to asbestos. Cancer cells tend to destroy the mesothelium, which is a protective bag that keeps the internal organs of the body. Initially, the pleura or peritoneum are affected and it spreads to other parts of the body. This is a life-threatening disease and the victim’s survival time is almost one year from the time of diagnosis depending on the treatment and other factors. What contributing is the prognosis of mesothelioma? Prognosis of mesothelioma depends only on the merit of diagnosis and treatment. If the treatment is provided with much delay then the chances of survival of the victim grows thinner. Again, survival depends largely on factors such as treatment, type of mesothelioma as well as patients’ health and morale. The stage of the disease during the diagnosis is the most important factor that determines the prognosis and the minimum survival expectancy of the victim. But unfortunately, mesothelioma unlike other cancers is quite difficult scene. This is because the symptoms of mesothelioma are non-specific due to which the cells have already expired at the time of diagnosis.

What are the determining factors that lead to prognosis? Early detection of the disease is imperative for the pursuit of any type of treatment. The location and size of the cancer, the cancer response to treatment, the extent to which the cancer has spread, what impression the cells give under the microscope and the age of the patients are some of the contributing factors that determine The prognosis. It should be emphasized that the diagnosis of the disease is not a child’s play. Moreover it becomes all the more difficult because of the very deceptive nature of the subtle symptoms of mesothelioma. For example, if you cough and you can never know that you have contracted the disease unless and until your doctor specifies while providing mesothelioma prognosis.Do you know about mesothelioma treatment options? Among the oldest classification systems of them all is the Butchart system, based on mass measurement, of a primary tumor and isolates the cancer in four stages.

The TNM system is a newer version while the Brigham system is the latest. It uses resectability and involvement of lymph nodes to stage mesothelioma. Traditional forms of treatment are also prevalent in cases of malignant mesothelioma. Radiation therapy exerts high-energy X-rays to eradicate cancer cells while chemotherapy makes through the use of drugs. Immunotherapy helps to strengthen the immune system, photodynamic therapy uses light energy while gene therapy revives the genetic defects inherent in the patient to fight the disease. The process of removing fluid from the chest is known as thoracentesis while the liquid abdominal reduction is known as paracentesis. Conventional surgeries and effective drugs like L-NDDP or Platar, Endostatin and lovastatin few come to the rescue of mesothelioma victims. Surgical removal of part of the chest or abdominal wall is called pleurectomy and if the lung is removed then the operation will be named as pneumonectomy
