• Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that develops from the thin layer of tissue that covers many of the internal organs (known as the mesothelium)

  • Pleural mesothelioma

Symptoms or signs of mesothelioma may not appear until 20 to 50 years (or more) after exposure to asbestos. Shortness of breath, cough, and pain in the chest due to an accumulation of fluid in the pleural space (pleural effusion) are often symptoms of pleural mesothelioma.

  • Peritoneal mesothelioma

The most common symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma are abdominal swelling and pain due to ascites (a buildup of fluid in the abdominal cavity)

  • Pericardial mesothelioma

Pericardial mesothelioma is not well characterized, but observed cases have included cardiac symptoms, specifically constrictive pericarditis, heart failure, pulmonary embolism, and cardiac tamponade.

  • Asbestos in buildings

Many building materials used in both public and domestic premises prior to the banning of asbestos may contain asbestos.

Mesothelioma Cancer : An Overview

Mesothelioma Cancer An Overview

The cause of mesothelioma cancer: Mesothelioma is a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos without sufficient protection on a person’s mouth and nose. Asbestos is a fibrous mineral that was discovered in the 1860s but not properly used until the 1930s. Asbestos has been used massively in construction because of its property to be fire resistant even at High temperatures. It was not until the 1960s that it became clear that asbestos was responsible for a number of diseases. These diseases include mesothelioma, asbestosis and cancer. Lung Asbestos as the cause of Mesothelioma: When exposed to asbestos without adequate protection, a person inhales many tiny asbestos fibers that are suspended in the air, air. These will pass into the respiratory system and most likely get lodged in the lining of the lungs. An accumulation of these fibers can cause surrounding cells to become abnormal and this can lead to mesothelioma.

Through the lymphatic system, asbestos fibers can lodge in the lining of the abdomen or in the lining of the suffering endured by heart. The mesothelioma patients: Symptoms of mesothelioma vary according to the type of mesothelioma a patient has . However, there are several common symptoms of all types. These include chest pain, shortness of breath, cough, blood sputum, weight loss and loss of appetite. These symptoms usually take effect only when cancer of mesothelioma has fully matured and developed. Due to the fact that these symptoms are common for a number of more common diseases such as pneumonia, mesothelioma is very difficult to diagnose in its first stages. The treatments available for mesothelioma: For now, all treatments for Mesothelioma have a low success rate. The effectiveness of the treatment largely depends on the aggressive manner and early the cancer is treated.

If it is treated at an advanced stage when it has fully developed, it is extremely difficult, almost impossible to cure. Treatments include surgery that comes in two forms, surgical procedures and aggressive palliative care, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and a double therapy that is a combination of the three main treatments combined. The dual therapy has shown the most promising signs so far as a healer for mesothelioma.Mesothelioma research: Research is underway in many research laboratories across the United States even though so far no breakthroughs have been made . Many pharmaceutical companies are also trying to find new drugs for chemotherapy. Researchers recently predicted that a long-awaited new treatment method for mesothelioma is about to be discovered

Pericardial Mesothelioma Treatment

Pericardial Mesothelioma Treatment

Pericardial mesothelioma is a very difficult cancer to treat and currently, all treatment methods used have a low success rate. The chances of survival of a patient depend largely on the precocity and aggressiveness of the cancer is treated. If pericardial mesothelioma is treated when it has reached full maturity and then developed the chances of survival are very thin and the prognosis of a patient could be only a couple of months. The latency period of pericardial mesothelioma (30-50 years), and its symptoms which are common to other more common diseases such as pneumonia, make it extremely difficult to diagnose and therefore difficult to treat in its early stages . In this way, many pericardial mesothelioma treatments are not aimed at curing patients, but instead focus on reducing the symptoms. Before a patient is being treated, a doctor assess him or her, and then decide which method of Treatment is the most appropriate for the patient situation. The patient’s age, medical history, general well-being and even weight are taken into account before the doctor decides which of the three most appropriate treatments.

These treatments are surgery, chemotherapy and radiation

therapy.Surgery There are two types of surgery that can be used of which one is called aggressive surgery. This is the most dangerous of all available treatment methods and only the strongest people are deemed strong enough to undergo this. Aggressive surgery involves removing large pieces of cancer cells inside the patient. This is extremely dangerous in the case of pericardial mesothelioma because the cancer cells are very close to the vital organs like the heart and lungs. Extremely skilled surgeons are needed to achieve this second type of surgery is operation. Palliative procedures and this type of surgery is used solely for the purpose of reducing cancer symptoms. Palliative procedures are performed when pericardial mesothelioma is in its final stages and it is virtually impossible to cure. Chemotherapy is the best known remedy for cancers and involves the use of drugs to kill cancer cells. However, most drugs used do not have a high success rate, although researchers are discovering new combinations of drugs that work more effectively.

Many pharmaceutical companies are also trying to find new drugs. Researchers predict that they will soon discover a drug with a significantly improved form of therapy.Radiation Therapy, This treatment successfully uses radiation doses to kill cancer cells. However, in the case of pericardial mesothelioma it is extremely difficult because, as well as damaging cancer cells, radiation also damages the vital organs like the heart and lungs. This makes the most effective use extremely difficult radiotherapy. The dose of radiation is usually too low to have a significant impact on healing therapy Therapy Dual mesothelioma.Dual pericardial is just a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. It involves using surgery to remove the majority of cancer cells, then using chemotherapy and radiotherapy to kill all remaining cells. This proved to be an effective but also very dangerous treatment method. Only the strongest young people are able to undergo this treatment.

Mesothelioma cancer – The 3 main types

Mesothelioma cancer- The 3 main types

In general, mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer. Different types of mesothelioma are distinguished between where the cancer develops. Pleural mesothelioma, the most common, accounting for 75% of all cases of mesothelioma, is where cancer cells develop on the lining of the lungs. The next most common form of mesothelioma is peritoneal mesothelioma and this is where cancer cells develop on the peritoneum which is the wall of the abdomen. Pericardial mesothelioma, the most common form of mesothelioma, accounts for about 5% of all cases of mesothelioma. This is where malignant cancer cells develop on the lining of the heart. All three of these forms of mesothelioma are caused by asbestos. Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous mineral that was discovered in the 1860s. Due to its very useful property of being flame retardant, asbestos was widely used in construction in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.

It was not until the early 1960s, when the serious health risks that the causes of asbestos were discovered, that asbestos ceased to be used. When exposed to asbestos with insufficient protection a person will breathe in tiny asbestos fibers suspended in the air. These fibers pass into the respiratory system until they lodge in the lung wall. Over time, the accumulation of these asbestos fibers in the lungs can cause pleural mesothelioma. Asbestos fibers can also pass into the lymphatic system and be transported either to the wall of the abdomen or tissue surrounding the heart. This can result in either peritoneal mesothelioma or pericardial mesothelioma. In terms of symptoms, the three main types of mesothelioma have some symptoms in common with each other.

These symptoms are usually of three types: chest pain, shortness of breath, cough, blood sputum, vomiting, nausea, weight loss and loss of appetite. An additional symptom of pericardial mesothelioma is palpitations. There are few treatments for all types of mesothelioma, but none of them have a high success rate. The effectiveness of the treatment depends on the precocity and the aggressiveness of the cancer is treated. If cancer cells are treated when they have fully matured and developed then it is unlikely that the treatment methods will be successful. Treatment methods include chemotherapy, which is the use of drugs to kill cancer, radiotherapy that uses a dose of radiation to kill cancer cells and surgery that attempts to take long-term control over cancer by suppressing A large part of the malignant cells. These methods of treatment can be combined in the form of double therapy

Mesothelioma Cancer Tips – Questions and Answers

Mesothelioma Cancer Tips - Questions and Answers

What is Mesothelioma cancer? Mesothelioma is a cancer of the mesothelium. Like most cancers, mesothelioma involves the abnormal separation of cells from a particular part of the body – in this case the mesothelium. Mesothelioma is so deadly, as it stays dormant for many years and then begins to grow rapidly. Cancer then begins to invade and damage neighboring tissues, including vital organs. What is mesothelium? Most internal organs of the body are protected by a membrane called the mesothelium. This membrane consists of two layers of cells. The inner layer surrounds the members, and the second is a bag that surrounds the inner layer. When the organs within this membrane have to move, develop or – like the heart, the lungs, the bladder, and so on, they are able to do this because the mesothelium produces a lubricating fluid between the two layers. Mesothelioma usually begins in the pleura or peritoneum. The pleura surrounds the lungs and covers the thoracic cavity. The peritoneum covers most organs in the abdominal cavity. Other mesothelial tissue is also vulnerable to mesothelioma.

These include the pericardium that surrounds and protects the heart, the vaginal tunic testic that surrounds the internal male reproductive organs, and the serous tunic neck which is the membrane that covers the internal genital organs in women. Who is most at risk of developing mesothelioma? Mesothelioma is a very specific cause – exposure to asbestos. During the first half of the previous century, until mid-1970 asbestos was an important material used to insulate buildings, machinery, heavy equipment, and a wide range of commercial applications. Because it was abundant and cheap to mine, asbestos has been used in many construction products such as insulation of the home, floor, ceiling and tiles. It has also been used in commonly found commercial products such as brake pads and pipe insulation. This means that millions of people came into contact with asbestos on a daily basis. And since the effects of exposure to asbestos fibers have often not become evident for 30 or 40 years after prolonged exposure, companies and health officials have been slow to recognize the dangers of asbestos.

As a result, workers shipyards, men and women who work in asbestos mines and factories, workers who manufacture asbestos products, workers in the heating and construction industries, and virtually all other bodies Have been exposed to asbestos fibers for prolonged periods of time. Today it is understood that all those who work with asbestos or nearby have an increased risk of developing mesothelioma, so there is strict control of exposure limits at the workplace. But since the dormancy period of mesothelioma can often be 30 or 40 years ago, there are millions of workers who are at risk because of their exposure in the decades before the security controls were put in place. What are the symptoms of mesothelioma? Pleural mesothelioma – cancer of the pleura or lung lining – causes shortness of breath or chronic cough. Other symptoms of pleural mesothelioma can include chest pain, chronic cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, wheezing, hoarseness, weight loss, or blood in the phlegm of the lungs while coughing.

Peritoneal mesothelioma affects the coating around the stomach and intestines and is generally equally dangerous. Symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma include pain or swelling of the abdomen, weight loss, intestinal obstruction, anemia and fever. Many of the symptoms of mesothelioma can easily be confused with allergies or a common cold. Mesothelioma is often discovered when patients think they have any of these other common diseases. What is Mesothelioma Gravity? By the time most people infected become aware that they have mesothelioma, it is no longer dormant and becomes extremely aggressive. In its active phase, mesothelioma can move quickly, and it is almost impossible to stop. There are treatments used to keep the patient at ease, but there is currently no cure for mesothelioma. It is estimated that 75% of the people who develop the disease lose their lives in the year. The remainder can last up to six additional months. It is therefore extremely important to detect the disease before it

Asbestos – Mesothelioma cancer

Asbestos - Mesothelioma cancer

Asbestos is the biggest killer workplace today. Those who have worked with asbestos or who are in regular contact with someone who has the risk of asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma. All these are fatal respiratory diseases that are extremely difficult to cure. Research is underway in various research laboratories throughout the United States and many pharmaceutical companies are also looking to find new drugs and treatments. One rare disease treatments caused by asbestos that is becoming more common is mesothelioma. Well known by many today, it is almost certain that the awareness of this disease will spread worldwide because of its increasing frequency among men aged between 55 and 70 years. Many of these men are now accommodating several million dollars lawsuits against companies that are subject to asbestos.

The people most at risk of mesothelioma are those who have been in regular contact with asbestos dust and fibers without adequate protection. Just a couple of months of exposure to asbestos can lead to mesothelioma 30 years later. The latency period (time the disease begins to take effect) of mesothelioma is 30 to 50 years, which is one of the reasons why it is so difficult to cure because it is very difficult to tackle his beginnings. Another reason why it is so difficult to cure is that its early symptoms are characteristic of many other more common diseases such as pneumonia.Mesothelioma symptoms include: – Chest pain – cough that gets worse over time, Loss of weight, shortness of breath, blood sputum-nausea and vomiting, fatigue Wheezing-Lung swollen lymphatic-nodes-loss of appetite A patient will feel symptoms depending on the type of mesothelioma he has obtained. In the next 35 years, it is estimated that more than 1 million people will die from asbestos-related diseases in developped countries. Most of these people will die from lung cancer and mesothelioma as these are the most prolific asbestos-related diseases.

Mesothelioma cancer Statistics – A Revelation

Mesothelioma cancer Statistics - A Revelation

What are mesothelioma statistics? Mesothelioma statistics are given on mesothelioma – a dangerous cancer that affects lining of the lungs and abdomen. In some cases, mesothelioma can affect the heart and the reproductive organs too. This is a fatal disease in surviving patients for only one to two years after diagnosis. What were the statistics of mesothelioma revealed? Mesothelioma statistics have revealed that nearly 70 to 80 percent of all cases of mesothelioma have been directly attributed to prolonged exposure to asbestos. Asbestos was a material frequently used in construction, railway, factory, shipyard and automotive industries. Mesothelioma statistics have been able to highlight the link between asbestos and cancer nearly sixty years ago. However, unscrupulous industries have chosen to continue using asbestos for motivated statistics.

Mesothelioma also profits mesothelioma to be a silent killer. This is because the disease is dormant in the body for periods of ten to fifty years. It is usually diagnosed in patients when they are between fifty and seventy years old. Normally the diagnosis of mesothelioma is only after the case has reached the last stage and there is very little hope for the survival of the patient. Mesothelioma statistics related to the treatment of mesothelioma: The sad reality is that mesothelioma has no cure. According to mesothelioma statistics, after the diagnosis, the average survival rate is only 12-24 months. Even with early detection and treatment, the survival rate can be stretched up to five years. Mesothelioma treatments are very expensive and usually range – between 400,008 hundred thousand dollars. This is the reason why most mesothelioma patients have to sue for medical and other costs related to this deadly disease.

Is there anything that mesothelioma statistics is not able to reveal? Mesothelioma statistics only reveal the number of patients who have already been diagnosed with mesothelioma. This number is two to three thousand new cases each year. However, mesothelioma statistics is not able to reveal or predict the number of people who continue to slowly develop cancer within. There are no statistical data to give the probable number of patients with mesothelioma in the near future. How Mesothelioma Statistics Can Be Useful? Government regulations make mesothelioma patients eligible for compensation. Mesothelioma statistics can help provide valuable information about illness claims and lawsuits. In addition, mesothelioma statistics can also help mesothelioma victims and lawyers gather valuable information to support their claims.

Mesothelioma cancer Fact – Alarms Truth

Mesothelioma cancer Fact - Alarms Truth

Lately many people have been looking for mesothelioma effect and information. Surprising mesothelioma is that mesothelioma cancer is a rare cancer but every year about 2,000 new cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed in the United States and this number has been steadily increasing over the past 20 years. Initially mesothelioma was recognized as a tumor of the pleura, peritoneum and pericardium. Later, doctors studied the effect linking mesothelioma cancers with exposure to asbestos. JCWagner wrote the first on mesothelioma by, and highlighted its links with exposure to asbestos in about 32 cases of workers in the “Hills of Asbestos” in South Africa.

The relationship between mesothelioma and exposure to asbestos has been confirmed in several research studies around the world.Mesothelioma is caused due to exposure to asbestos and inhalation of asbestos particles. Asbestos has been widely used in industrial and manufacturing processes and building materials. Building materials such as cement, tiles, shingles, pipes, insulating material and much more, contained asbestos materials. Mesothelioma is shocking is that almost all buildings built before 1970 US contain asbestos that could pose a risk to occupants. Applied Mesothelioma Research Foundation has published a fa It has been that, since 1970, protections against exposure to asbestos have been put in place, mesothelioma could take 30 to 50 years to be noticed. This is because cancer of mesothelioma and other asbestos diseases have a high latency rate.

Asbestos particles can remain dormant in the human body for 30-50 years before manifesting as cancers of mesothelioma. Mesothelioma cancers are of two main types. In pleural mesothelioma, cancer cells are found in the lining of the breast bag and peritoneal mesothelioma is found in the mucosa of the abdominal cavity. There are rare cases of mesothelioma of the mucosa of the hearts and testicles. Mesothelioma is more common in men than in women. Sensitization on mesothelioma facts is also helpful to be aware about the symptoms of mesothelioma. This information helps in the early detection and rapid treatment of the disease. Chest pain that is caused by the cancer itself or shortness of breath, abdominal pain and swelling, cough, unexplained weight loss fatigue and some possible symptoms of mesothelioma cancers

Asbestos Diseases:The Importance of Information

Asbestos Diseases The Importance of Information

In recent years there has been a need for information on asbestos diseases. This is mainly because of asbestos, a hazardous contaminant that finds once wide application in industries, construction processes and building materials. However, after the release of information on asbestos diseases, the use of this contaminant was banned and regulated. More and more people have obtained information about asbestos-related diseases and have become aware of the health hazards of this dangerous material. A person who had previously worked in manufacturing processes related to asbestos or occupied a building contaminated with asbestos may be vulnerable to serious asbestos diseases such as asbestosis, mesothelioma, lung cancers and other Respiratory disorders. – Although there is much less information on the direct link between asbestos and diseases such as lung cancer, it has been shown that exposure to asbestos is the main, not the only Cause of mesothelioma cancers.

Mesothelioma is a rare cancer that affects the toppings surrounding vital organs such as the lungs, heart or abdomen. What is asbestos? According to information from the asbestos disease available, asbestos is a brittle material and can easily break up into tiny fibrous particles. These fibers are very small and invisible to the naked eye. People working in industries related to asbestos or otherwise exposed to asbestos can easily inhale these tiny fibers. Asbestos particles can remain dormant in your body for years or even decades before making their presence felt in the form of asbestos diseases such as asbestosis and mesothelioma cancer. Mesothelioma and its symptoms a lot of information about asbestos diseases surround mesothelioma cancers.

This is an advanced stage of cancer and almost impossible to treat in later stages. Mesothelioma is caused by exposure to asbestos and its symptoms are very similar to the normal problems of aging – chest pain, back pain, pain or swelling of the abdomen and shortness of breath. The first signs of mesothelioma are difficulty swallowing, coughing, fever, sweating, tiredness and weight loss. However, with awareness and more information about asbestos disease, one can diagnose it at an early stage and could avoid serious consequences of this disease. Lawsuits and industries in the recent past, more and more information about asbestos disease has led to an increase in the number of mesotheliomas and asbestos-related lawsuits. People suffering from asbestos diseases are suing to recover compensation against the owners of the industry causing exposure to asbestos. The courts have ruled cases in favor of the victims and issued tough rewards against the industries for their negligent behavior.

Mesothelioma: Your Health at Risk

Mesothelioma: Your Health at Risk

Are You At Risk Of Mesothelioma? If you are above 40 and you have never been exposed to asbestos for more than 2 months in the last 15-40 years, then you are at risk for mesothelioma. It is a rare but lethal cancer of the cells of the membrane that covers certain vital parts of our body like lungs, abdominal and cardiac cavity, called mesothelium. As in other cancers, mesothelioma in the membrane cells ruthlessly split causing abnormal growth, which ultimately damage the lining of the vital organ like the lungs and abdomen. Mesothelioma Causes Asbestos minerals, used in various processes, including construction, shipyard and manufacturing at the time of the Second World War and for a few decades, is the leading cause of mesothelioma.

Research has shown that those who have worked in asbestos-related industries are at higher risk for mesothelioma. The minute asbestos particles go into the human body through the nose or mouth during inhalation, talking or any other reason. They reach the lungs or abdomen and damage the mucous membrane, causing mesothelioma. Due to its long latency period, mesothelioma can attack you even 15 – 40 years after inhalation of asbestos particles. Even the family members of the person working in asbestos-related industries might be vulnerable to mesothelioma. Treatments of Mesothelioma Because Mesothelioma is a newly discovered disease, many doctors may not be able to diagnose. However, if you have a history of asbestos exposure, you should ask your doctor to look for the symptoms of this disease.

The good news is that there is a treatment of mesothelioma in the early stages. Some treatment options for mesothelioma cancers are surgical removal of the tissues performed; Chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, the prognosis of patients with subsequent mesothelioma is dark and the average survival time after diagnosis is 12-24 months. Mesothelioma Compensations The owners of asbestos-related industries were very aware of the health risks of asbestos. However, they persisted in its use without issuing warnings or taking measures to avoid health risks. This is the reason why US courts have received huge sums that compensate for mesothelioma patients / families by companies / individuals responsible for the onset of exposure to asbestos.

A good understanding of mesothelioma causes

A good understanding of mesothelioma causes

Cause mesothelioma refers to the thing or event responsible for mesothelioma cancers. Mesothelioma is a cancerous disease of the lining of the abdominal organs, lungs and heart. Almost all cases of mesothelioma disease in one way or another are related to exposure to asbestos particles. Exposure to asbestos particles could cause mesothelioma even if the exposure level is very low. Studies show that about 70-80% of the total mesothelioma cases have a history of exposure to asbestos thus identifying asbestos as the leading cause of mesothelioma. Incidence of mesothelioma without a history of exposure to asbestos particles are very rare facts. Some about mesothelioma exposure CauseAsbestos is the only known cause of mesothelioma. Asbestos is a group of natural minerals.

It contains solid and flexible fibers. These fibers can be separated in thin threads. The commercial use of asbestos began at the end of the nineteenth century. It has been widely used because of its durability and its ability to withstand high temperatures. Asbestos has been widely used in brake linings, cement, roofing shingles, textiles, flooring, insulation and many other industrial products. Small particles of asbestos remain suspended in the manufacture of these products. Asbestos workers, family members who reside near asbestos manufacturing industries could easily inhale asbestos fibers that could cause mesothelioma and asbestos other diseases.

The main cause of mesothelioma is Negligence of asbestos manufacturers. Manufacturers continued to use asbestos even after being aware of its harmful effects. They did not issue warnings or take the necessary precautions to avoid exposure to asbestos for workers. Had they been sincere in their responsibilities, many people suffering from mesothelioma and dangerous asbestos-related diseases would have been healthy and happy.Smoking Increases Mesothelioma Risk Experts are of the opinion that smoking is not in itself A cause of mesothelioma. Nevertheless, it increases the risk of pleural mesothelioma – mesothelioma lining of the lungs. Studies have revealed that asbestos-exposed smokers have an increased risk of mesothelioma compared to non-smokers with similar exposure to asbestos measures.Preventive measures against Mesothelioma Cause Studies have delighted that members of the family of workers Asbestos suffered from mesothelioma. The cause of mesothelioma is in this case asbestos dust particles installed on clothes, shoes and hair asbestos workers as members of their family inhaled. Workers should shower and change clothes to avoid exposing family members to asbestos particles. Workers should also put on protective equipment to reduce the risk of exposure to asbestos

Asbestos mesothelioma: a deadly disease

Asbestos mesothelioma: a deadly disease

Asbestos The main culprit behind Mesothelioma Asbestos is a rare but dangerous cancer caused by exposure to airborne asbestos particles. Asbestos is a group of natural silicate minerals. It is made of durable and durable fibers that are resistant to heat and fire. Long and thin and flexible structure of asbestos fibers allows you to even weave into the fabric. These intrinsic qualities of asbestos prompted manufacturers of industry, automotive, marine, scientific, construction and consumer products to widely use it during 1890 1970. Different Types of Mesothelioma and Their Symptoms Asbestos mesothelioma affects lining of the lungs, abdominal or cardiac organs. Mesothelioma asbestos affects lining of the lungs or pleural membrane is called pleural mesothelioma. Peritoneal mesothelioma affects the lining of the abdominal or peritoneal organs.

When this disease shows its effect in the lining of the heart or pericardium, it is known as pericardial mesothelioma. The symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma are pain and swelling in the abdomen, weakness, weight loss, loss of appetite and nausea. In most cases, the fluid accumulates in the peritoneal cavity. Symptoms of pleural mesothelioma are persistent cough, difficulty breathing, weakness, weight loss, loss of appetite, chest pain, lower back pain and difficulty swallowing. In most cases, a liquid builds up in space.Asbestos pleural mesothelioma Kills Silently Most misfortune on asbestos mesothelioma is its long latency period. Any person, who had exposure to asbestos, even 20 to 50 years back, can have mesothelioma asbestos sleeping in his body without any onset of the symptoms mentioned above.

Over time, the symptoms become apparent, it is already too late. The average survival time of all types of patients with mesothelioma is no more than 24 months.Diagnosis of mesothelioma asbestos involves x-ray, CT-scan, peritoneoscopy and bronchoscopy. After finding a doctor anomaly may suggest a biopsy. In biopsy, we send a tissue sample for pathological examination. After examining a tissue sample from an expert pathologist can confirm about the development of disease.Chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery are the treatment options available for patients with asbestos mesothelioma. People suffering form asbestos mesothelioma can sue by filing to recover damages for the people or industries responsible for their exposure to asbestos

An Overview of Mesothelioma Cancers

An Overview of Mesothelioma Cancers

What Are Mesothelioma Cancers? Mesothelioma cancers are cancers that spread in mesothelial tissues. Mesothelium in general is the name of tissue that forms the lining of various body organs such as the heart, lungs, abdomen and reproductive organs. The lining around the abdominal organs is known as the peritoneal membrane. Lining around the lungs is called pleura while the lining around the heart is called pericardium. These fillings fulfill two functions. They protect the internal organs by producing a lubricating fluid and allow the fluidity of the movement of the internal organs. Mesothelioma cancers are the cancers that affect these membranes. The names of cancers depend on the tissue or the linings they affect. Peritoneal mesothelioma, pleural mesothelioma and pericardial mesothelioma are the names of cancers of abdomen, lung and heart coatings, respectively.

Pleural mesothelioma is the most common of all mesothelioma cancers and occurs in 70% of mesothelioma patients. Peritoneal mesothelioma constitutes 10% to 20% of patients with mesothelioma in the third type pericardial mesothelioma, is rare. Symptoms of mesothelioma Cancers Symptoms of mesothelioma cancers are the same as other common diseases. It makes mesothelioma cancer diagnosis a difficult task. Pain and swelling of the abdomen, weakness, weight loss, loss of appetite and nausea are the symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma. Symptoms of pleural mesothelioma are persistent cough, difficulty breathing, weight loss, loss of appetite, weakness, chest pain, lower back pain and difficulty in swallowing.History of mesothelioma cancers dates back as far as 1900 It took about 60 years to gather enough information about these mesothelioma cancers.

By the end of the sixth decade of the last century, experts could conclude that exposure to asbestos particles is the reason behind the disease. JC Wagner was the first researcher to report 32 cases of mesothelioma cancers and confirmed his association with asbestos exposure. One finding alarming about mesothelioma cancers is his prolonged latency period. These cancers can remain asymptomatic in the body even up to 50 years. The chances of survival of patients with mesothelioma are rare and the average survival period after diagnosis is no more than 12-24 months. Surgery if diagnosis is early, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are common treatments for all types of mesothelioma cancers. People with mesothelioma cancers can sue for damages for medical bills and other damages. They can file lawsuits against the people and companies responsible for the onset exposure to asbestos

Asbestos Settlement – the sad reality

Asbestos Settlement - the sad reality

Asbestos Patterns Settlement In the past few years, there has been a drastic increase in the number of asbestos-related cases, due to the increase in the number of people suffering from asbestos-related diseases. Studies show that the majority of people have developed several lung diseases such as mesothelioma due to exposure to asbestos. Owners of manufacturing industries that use asbestos are now in legal battles because of the overuse of asbestos. The owners constantly used asbestos materials while being aware of the adverse effects of asbestos on the human body. Several people suffer from mesothelioma cancers, asbestosis, cancer or other types of asbestos-related lung cancer and stomach disorders due to their negligent behavior.

This negligence is the reason for increasing cases of asbestos litigation and settlements.Asbestos-A Killer Asbestos Silence is a natural fibrous material that has been widely used in shipyards, insulation, railways, building processes, building materials, Construction and many other manufacturing industries for more than a century. Exposure to asbestos fibers is dangerous to human health and can cause severe damage to the lungs. It results in diseases such as mesothelioma cancers, asbestosis and other dangerous diseases. Most diseases caused by asbestos show their symptoms at a very advanced stage which makes it very difficult to treat.Mesothelioma-an offspring of Asbestos Mesothelioma is a type of lung cancer that is caused by asbestos. It is very difficult to diagnose mesothelioma at an early stage and by the time the disease has been diagnosed, it becomes almost impossible to treat and cure.

Mesothelioma cancer can also damage the abdomen, reproductive organs and even the heart. Nearly 70 to 80 people diagnosed with mesothelioma have a history of exposure to asbestos. Asbestos workers and even their families are vulnerable to mesothelioma cancers. Asbestos lawsuits and asbestos regulations are necessary for mesothelioma victims because the treatment of mesothelioma involves massive litigation.Asbestos litigation against asbestos Settlement To choose between the settlement of asbestos and asbestos litigation is a Difficult task. Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages. Lawyers favor settlement of an argument that settlement is a faster process and helps to get compensation without a troublesome trial. However, those who favor disputes say that the average amount of compensation in asbestos trials is much higher than the average amounts paid in the asbestos colonies. You can select the mode that suits you in consultation with your asbestos lawyer and the merits of your case

Asbestos: Causes of Lethal Mesothelioma

Asbestos Causes of Lethal Mesothelioma

A view of Mesothelioma Asbestos is the trade name given to certain types of fibrous materials. They are silicates of various compositions; Silica combined with patterns such as magnesium, iron, calcium, sodium and aluminum. Asbestos fibers are generally from 20 to 500  in length and from 0.5 to 50  in diameter. Asbestos bodies appear as golden or pearl stalks with a translucent center. The fibers are insoluble. The exposure of asbestos causes fibers to be inhaled and to fine dust deposited in the alveoli in the lungs resulting in a type of cancer called mesothelioma (a lethal tumor) involving mesothelial tissues or usually lung or Stomach and organs.Mesothelioma abdominal is a rare form of cancer of the pleura (lung cancer) and the peritoneum (abdomen cancer). Mesothelioma has been shown to have a strong association with the crocidolite variety of asbestos. Pleural mesothelioma, the most common manifestation of exposure to asbestos, is well-defined plaques of dense collagen, often containing calcium.

Mesothelioma peritoneum may or may not contain asbestos bodies and rarely occur in people who have no prior history or indication of exposure.Mesothelioma of asbestos occurs not only in people who are exposed Asbestos, but also to those who had lived in the vicinity of asbestos manufacturing process or those who are staying in contaminated asbestos buildings. In Britain, an association has been reported between mesothelioma and people living within 1 kilometer of an asbestos factory. The risk of mesothelioma is reported to be elevated in cases where occupational exposure to mesothelioma, Asbestos is combined with cigarettes. Mesothelioma usually does not appear until 5 to 10 years of exposure. Mesothelioma causes mechanical irritation and in advanced cases, there may be symptoms of fingerprinting, and heart distress.

The survival time of patients with mesothelioma is generally between 12 months to 2 years of diagnosis and very few survive more than 2 years. The following measures can be useful in preventing mesothelioma incidents: • Use of the safest types Asbestos (chrysotile and amosite) • Replacement of other insulators such as fiberglass, rock wool, calcium silicate plastic foams • Strict dust control • Periodic examination of workers such as biological monitoring (clinical, X- Ray, lung function) The government should take adequate measures and make appropriate legislation to stop or reduce the cases of asbestos mesothelioma exposure. If you or any of your family or friends is suffering from mesothelioma, you have the right to sue for compensation for medical equipment, loss of income and pain. You can consult a qualified lawyer for filing a mesothelioma trial for comensation

Mesothelioma Treatment : Understanding it.

Mesothelioma Treatment

Treatment of mesothelioma involves relieving or curing the deadly disease called mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a serious disease that affects lining of the lungs, abdominal or cardiac organs. Mesothelioma can be of two types, either benign or malignant. Treatment of mesothelioma, for a person suffering from benign mesothelioma, is surgery. However, in the case of malignant mesothelioma scientists could not find a treatment of mesothelioma established to treat patients fully.Types of mesothelioma treatment options available today are Treatment Mesothelioma radiotherapy, chemotherapy, radical surgery and / or Combination of all these treatments. During the operation, either a part of the tumor or the entire tumor is removed. In some cases, some of the normal tissue surrounding the area is also suppressed with the tumor.Mesothelioma treatment, in which doctors try to cure the patient with medications, which is known as chemotherapy.

As mesothelioma cancer is a rare disease, very little information is available regarding the effects of different drugs on different patients. Adriamycm, (doxorubicin), Cytoxan (cyclophosphamide), 5-fluorouracil and 5-azacytidine are some of the drugs that have given good results and a response rate of 0 to 35% when judged in patients With mesothelioma. Some other drugs effective for the treatment of mesothelioma are cisplatin, high dose methotrexate, interferon, anthracycline analogues and vinblastine. The National Cancer Institute sponsors other studies the efficacy of these and other drugs by funding numerous clinic centers. Clinical Radiation is another mesothelioma treatment option that is more useful for reducing pain rather than curing the Disease itself. Due to the severity of the disease, standard dose of 6000 rads of radiation has very little effect on patients with mesothelioma. In limited cases, some benefits are observed when the patient is treated with high dose aggressive irradiation. Use of radioactive compounds on diseased tissues also showed positive results with people diagnosed early.

Patients with pleural mesothelioma survived for more than 24 months when radioactive colloidal gold (Au 198) was placed between the two pleural membranes. Scientists hope that radioactive chromium phosphate, p32 can be used as a treatment for effective mesothelioma. This could increase the survival time of patients suffering from mesothelioma.Like peritoneal treatment of other cancers, the treatment of mesothelioma also has its side effects. Nausea and vomiting are minor problems associated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy that could be controlled with medications. However, suppressing the bone marrow is a severe short-term side effect that can cause white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets count to go down. These patients may become susceptible to bleeding and infection and may require antibiotic treatment or other treatment.Mesothelioma support can be a very lengthy and expensive procedure. However, patients with mesothelioma cancers can claim compensation for mesothelioma treatments. They can file lawsuits against the persons or organizations responsible for the onset of exposure to asbestos

Mesothelioma Treatment

Mesothelioma Treatment

There are several treatment methods for mesothelioma, although none of them have a high success rate. In general, the chances of curing a mesothelioma patient depends on how much the cancer has developed and matured during treatment. If approached aggressively in its beginnings, there is a good chance of survival. Due to the difficulty of diagnosing mesothelioma in its early days, many mesothelioma treatments focus on improving the quality of life of patients. Before a patient is treated on a doctor will determine the best treatment is to consider the patient’s age, medical history, general well-being and even weight. From there, the doctor will decide which of the three most common treatments are most appropriate to the condition of the patient. These treatments are surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Surgery is available in two different types.

Aggressive Surgery is a treatment that seeks to take long-term control of cancer procedures and palliative care that aims to only relieve the patient’s symptoms. Aggressive surgery involves removing the pleura, lung, diaphragm and pericardium. This procedure is known as an additional pleural pneumonectomy. The purpose of this is to remove as much tumor as possible without harming the patient. However, this is a very risky type of surgery and the chances are high of the fatality of patients in a month. For this reason, only young people, suitable people are called to this form of treatment. Palliative procedures involve removing only the pleura in order to control the symptoms of cancer. This is achieved when the mesothelioma is in a tip shape and is impossible to harden. This chemotherapy is the treatment most commonly known as cancer. Chemotherapy uses medications to treat mesothelioma although many of these drugs have a mediocre success rate on patients.

Combinations of drugs are often used to improve their effect. Some of these associations have proved their effectiveness. Mesothelioma chemotherapy is improved regularly as research labs and pharmaceutical companies discover new and effective medications. Radiotherapy Radiation therapy uses radiation to kill the tumor that creates mesothelioma. However, this procedure is extremely difficult because of the place where the tumor develops. Due to the proximity of the tumor and many vital internal organs such as the heart and lungs, physicians should be very careful about the doses of radiation they use. Lower doses of radiation can be used but this decreases its effectiveness. Bitherapy This is often used and is just a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and combined radiation therapy. Surgery removes the majority of tumor cells while chemotherapy and radiotherapy work on the removal of the sequel. This is an effective method and also reduces the symptoms of cancer

Asbestos killed my husband

Asbestos killed my husband

He was only a child when he begunAnd he played as children do in his garden with his little cars and tipping trucks But his sand was blue asbestos … In December 1999 my husband and I were walking home from Of a game of lawn bowling when I became aware of its shortness of breath. I was surprised and worried when he told me that he had experienced it several times. Considering that this is due to the chest infection, I made the appointment of a doctor for him the next day.Chest X-rays revealed fluid in the lungs, more than two liters that was drained, giving Brian Immediate relief, but it was a tense expectation for the outcomes of the pathology. Through the Internet, I had become aware of several conditions that may have been responsible for liquid on the lung, including asbestos-related diseases. Brian had lived in Wittenoom as a child and I was afraid of his diagnosis. Not wanting to worry him unnecessarily, I did not speak of my fears.

I pray that he had pleurisy or pneumonia, but the results of pathology revealed that there were cancer cells present. When Brian finally received his diagnosis, my worst nightmare became reality. He had pleural mesothelioma, a terminal cancer of the lung caused by inhalation of asbestos dust. We found it inconceivable that the disease was the result of Brian inhalation of asbestos dust as a child and that he had slept for forty-five years before becoming lethal. We were still in shock when, without Preamble, the young doctor gave his prognosis. His exact words were “three to nine months, I think.” That he could not say what surprised me so unsightly. His total lack of compassion did not encourage even the small comfort of tears. I felt as if Brian and I had been shot and left from that moment as we waited to drop.Undoubtedly, were mortally wounded. We suffered a shock, disbelief, anger, helplessness and despair, in fact, all the symptoms of pain when one feels a loved one actually died. Suddenly we had no control over our lives, our journey through the terminal illness had begun.

Throughout the course of our married life my deep love for Brian and my resolve to solve the difficulties that allowed us to To go through the ordeals. I found it hard to believe that nothing could be done to save his life and started surfing the Internet with information about mesothelioma, all the time praying for a miracle, hoping against any hope of finding a doctor who had Operated successfully or heal someone from it. It was a sad fact to find out that for Brian there were no miracles, but I learned a lot and he helped me to accept that he was going to die. With my acceptance came a fierce determination to relieve his burden. I kept looking for information about mesothelioma and pain and symptoms Brian would experience, due to the progression of his illness. In this way I came to understand the importance of pain management and symptoms and I realized that although I could not stop Brian from dying – I could help him live.

My knowledge gained on Pain and symptoms that allowed me to communicate with Brian and understand the type of pain he was experiencing and the intensity of this pain. I was then able to work hand in hand with his doctors, bringing his pain and symptoms under control. As my efforts resulted in his improved quality of life, I lost my sense of helplessness and gained strength.Together, we realized for Brian, a quality of life little thought possible, given the nature of His illness. Testament to this, despite his prognosis of three to nine months, Brian survived for 2 years, remained active and alert, drove his car for eighteen months after diagnosis and was not bedridden for three days Hardly before his death.Brian brave fight against mesothelioma ended on December 24, 2001; He died at home surrounded by his relatives. He was 54 years old

Pericardial Mesothelioma:The Facts About it

Pericardial Mesothelioma The Facts About it

Pericardial mesothelioma is a very rare form of mesothelioma and accounts for about 5% of all cases of mesothelioma. This form of mesothelioma affects the coating that surrounds the heart and is a deadly cancer if not treated aggressively in its cause. The beginning of pericardial mesothelioma is exposure to asbestos dust and fibers. As little as a few months exposure to asbestos fibers can result in pericardial mesothelioma between 30-50 years later. Because of this long latency period of the disease, it is very difficult to diagnose before the cancer has developed and fully matured. Those with mesothelioma are adult men aged 60-70 because it was the generation that worked with asbestos with little protection from dust and fibers. Symptoms of cancer have just begun to show these men because of the long duration that the effects of mesothelioma take to get out.

Many of these men are now hosting multi-million dollar lawsuits against companies that are exposed to asbestos without adequate protection. Asbestos fibers reach the inner wall of the heart by being inhaled and lodged in the lungs. From the lungs they can either move in the lymphatic system and convey to the inner lining of the heart or they can simply pass slowly to the inner lining of the heart over time. Over a long period of time being exposed to asbestos, these fibers accumulate and once enough have accumilated to the heart of lining, pericardial mesothelioma is a possibility. There are a number of symptoms associated with dates of pericardial mesothelioma. However, these are not felt when cancer has evolved and is in its final stages of development. These symptoms include persistent cough, shortness of breath, chest pain and palpitations.

Other typical symptoms of all types of mesothelioma include loss of appetite, nausea and weight loss. Anyone who recognizes that they have these symptoms or know someone who is doing so is encouraged by all of the leading medical advisors to seek medical help immediately. There is not certain cure for pericardial mesothelioma and all treatment methods used have a low success rate. The chances of survival of a patient depend strongly on the early and aggressive way cancer is treated. This is why it is important to receive a diagnosis of pericardial mesothelioma as soon as possible. Treatment methods include chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. In remedies for pericardial mesothelioma is being conducted in laboratories all over the United States And many pharmaceutical companies are also investigating new drugs. So far, research has only discovered a limited amount.

Peritoneal Mesothelioma:The Facts About it.

Peritoneal Mesothelioma:The Facts About it.

Peritoneal mesothelioma is a rare form of mesothelioma which accounts for about 20% of all cases of mesothelioma. Peritoneal mesothelioma affects the lining of the tissues of the abdomen which is called the peritoneum hence the name of this form of cancer. The peritoneum protects the contents of the abdomen and is therefore very important. Currently, only one cause of peritoneal mesothelioma is known and this is exposure to asbestos dust and fibers. Only a couple of months of exposure to asbestos without adequate protection can lead to peritoneal mesothelioma thirty to fifty years later. Those who suffer from peritoneal mesothelioma are mainly older men who worked in asbestos several decades ago when workers are not protected from asbestos dust.

Many of these men are currently accommodating multi-million dollar lawsuits against companies that are exposed to asbestos. Asbestos fibers can penetrate the peritoneum in two different ways. The most common way to reach the peritoneum is by being trapped in the trachea and bronchus (inside the lungs) by the mucus and eventually swallowed. From there, they can pass through the intestinal wall into the peritoneum. The second way that asbestos fibers can reach the peritoneum is to deposit them in the lungs. They then move into the lymphatic system and transport themselves to the peritoneum. Constant exposure to asbestos leads to a large number of fibers being constructed in the peritoneum.

The symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma are generally felt when the cancer has developed considerably. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, weight loss, abdominal pain and loss of appetite. As the cancer progresses, the symptoms become more pronounced and severe. There are several treatments for peritoneal mesothelioma even though they all have a low success rate. The likelihood of a patient’s survivor depends on the early and aggressive way the cancer is treated. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery are the most commonly used methods of treatment. Research on the treatment of peritoneal mesothelioma is conducted at research stations in the United States and by many pharmaceutical companies

Mesothelioma cancer – Your Basic Information

Mesothelioma cancer - Your Basic Information

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is becoming more and more common. The most common cause of this cancer is exposure to asbestos. When constantly exposed with insufficient protection, asbestos dust and fibers affect the mesothelial cells, which form the mesothelium. Mesothelium is the outer coating that protects some of the body’s most vital organs like the heart and lungs. Mesothelial cells become abnormal after long periods of constant exposure to asbestos causing an array of problems.Due to the latency period and the symptoms of this cancer, mesothelioma is very difficult to diagnose. Mesothelioma takes decades to mature and develop fully and that is why many older men who have been exposed to asbestos thirty years ago are just discovering that they have cancer.

Many of these men are currently harboring several million dollars lawsuits against companies that expose them to the dangers of asbestos without adequate protection mechanisms that are most affected by mesothelioma are the lungs. The most common type of mesothelioma that is called pleural mesothelioma affects the lining of the lungs and can cause symptoms such as coughing, breathing and swallowing, shortness of breath and fever. Another area that can be affected by mesothelioma is the abdomen. This is less common and this is known as peritoneal mesothelioma. Symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma include nausea and vomiting, weight loss, fever, intestinal obstruction, loss of appetite and pain in general in the stomach area. The last and the lowest common type of mesothelioma is known as pericardial mesothelioma and it affects the heart and surrounding tissue.

Symptoms of this form of cancer include palpitations, breathing difficulties and a persistent cough. Generally, the symptoms of mesothelioma are typical of many other diseases, making it very difficult to diagnose. There are treatments for mesothelioma, although these are generally unsuccessful. If the cancer is treated aggressively in its beginnings then there is a good chance of a patient survivor. However, due to the difficulty in diagnosing mesothelioma, cancer is not present until it is too late. The treatments that are used for mesothelioma include surgery, radiotherapy, palliative therapy and chemotherapy. The search for additional mesothelioma treatment is done in various cancer centers throughout the United States as well as by pharmaceutical companies.
